"A  happy place to adopt your new best friend"

UPCOMING EVENTS

It is with profound sadness that we must share the passing of our beloved co-founder and inspiration, Rosemarie Cafiero.  Rosemarie devoted her life to rescuing abandoned pets and wanted nothing more than to save lives to the very end.  She fought a brave and ferocious battle with cancer, wanting only more time to foster.  We will honor Rosemarie's 40 years of rescue, by continuing to save lives and make a difference.  Click here to read her beautiful obituary.

Rosemarie was my best friend and mentor and I dedicate our small, friendly Rescue Organization to her memory - Susan

Our Next Adoption Event

Saturday Nov 16, 2019

       11am - 1pm

Join us at Petvalu W. Caldwell on Bloomfield Ave.

at the Panera's Shopping Center

We founded Rosemarie's Rescue Ranch to be a happy place to adopt your new best friend.  A place you feel welcome and at ease, and able to focus on what's best for both your family and for the animal.  We're a small, close-knit group of kind-hearted folks who put the welfare of the animals we rescue first, above all else.  We'll be asking lots of questions, and listening closely to your needs to help you make an educated decision on next steps.

Co-Founders:  Rosemarie Cafiero and Susan Janett Paige

Rosemarie Cafiero was the founder and former president of Orphaned Pets for 26 years prior to creating Rosemarie's Rescue Ranch with Susan. She participated in more than 7000+ rescues during her tenure at the the helm before she passed away.  Susan Janett Paige  worked side-by-side with Rosemarie as her partner in rescue for over a decade.   "This new group reflects our passion for the animals we save and the volunteers who participate.  It takes a village."

ADOPTION EVENTS ARE FUN!

Meet Tamara D'Alessio

Meet Tamara, our Vice President and Transport Director.  Tamara is the first smiling face our rescues see when they arrive from having made the chilling journey from kill shelter to rescue.  With open arms and an overflowing heart, Tamara transports our new rescues to our foster family rendezvous location where they are picked up by their temporary families. It's truly a joyous moment.  The day we lost Rosemarie, Tamara came to me and said "Susan, what do you need, whatever you need I'm all in" and we've been inseparable since.  A true champion for the animals, and a kind-hearted compassionate friend, we're grateful to have her on our team.

We received a plea to help a poor dog trapped 24/7 in a crate outside in the blinding hot sun

Melissa Navarro, Marie Maxwell, and I drove out to the location in Sussex County where we had heard of a small dog crated in the  glaring hot sun without shade, where he was locked up 24/7.  A neighbor had alerted Melissa, who in turn alerted me. We knocked on the door and waited for some time for someone to answer.  We could see the dog locked in the crate in the back.  When she finally opened the door, we compassionately and gently, in a quiet and calm tone, asked the woman at the door if we could bring her dog for veterinary care and take him into our foster program.  To our surprise, she seemed relieved we had come calling and thanked us.  Without a moment's hesitation she said "yes please" and immediately went back and got the dog.

RayRay was taken straight to Petvalu for a bath

RayRay was drenched in sweat, with urine caked onto his fur and stained yellow/brown from his waist and thighs down.  Without flinching, Marie picked up RayRay in all his filth and carried this poor soul to the car.  I sat in the back petting him and praising him while he literally came alive in the presence of kindness and love.

Straight to Petvalu we headed to bathe him.  RRR foster, adopter, and volunteer, Robin Dewitt, was following our story on Facebook and messaged us that she was meeting us there.  Robin took the lead with grooming the mats and caked on urine off poor RayRay, it took several shampoos to even make a dent.

Jennifer Gannett was also following our story and responded to our pleas for a temporary foster for the night by opening her home to RayRay.  She and her cat Clementine rallied around RayRay making him feel safe and welcome and loved.

The following day we brought little RayRay to see Dr. Fedina at the Veterinary Medical Center of Caldwell for a full examination.  Poor little boy was in pretty bad shape.  Dehydrated and carrying 3 fatty tumors on his body (one the size of my fist hanging from his leg), they also discovered a suspicious mass on his spleen.  To make matters worse, poor little boy was blind.

For 5 days he stayed with the wonderful staff at VMC where he received fluids and lots and lots of love.  Following his surgery, he went into foster care at the home of Tricia and Dave Smythe, a foster favorite at RRR, who offered lots of TLC and a safe haven for him to heal from his ordeal.

And just a few days ago we received the wonderful news that the suspicious mass on his spleen was benign.  Finally a break for our boy.  So while he will be blind for the remainder of his life, his heart is huge and he will make a special family so very happy.

RayRay's foster mom is taking him to the groomer and then he will be put up for adoption shortly after.  We can't say enough about how loving and happy he is.  We can barely wait to wish him his very own happy ever after....

Still smiling from such a wonderful "Sip and Paint" fundraiser Sunday night. So grateful for all the love and support. Your friendship means the world. Together so many lives can be saved.  Many thanks to Rich of the Horseneck Tavern in North Caldwell for hosting our event and donating the main dining room for our fundraiser.
